If your child is 13-17 years old and you are looking for an exciting way to help them manage weight and health, you can sign them up for a free, eight-week online program, ‘Think Eat and Move’.
Starting on March 15 and designed by health professionals, the program acknowledges the growing independence of teens by providing easy online access and the flexibility to complete the program at a time that suits them as well as advice and ideas they will find relevant.
Teens completing the program will learn a range of practical skills and useful tips each week helping them to make healthy choices and to take the lead on their health.
With an online session to complete each week and weekly coaching appointments, teens will also receive freebies including drink bottles, handouts and some other practical tools, including their own Garmin fitness tracker.
Parents or carers will also be able to help by completing online sessions and their own phone coaching.
Running a range of healthy lifestyle programs, Better Health general manager Teagan Knight says ‘Think Eat and Move’ is an evidence-based program aligned with the Government’s Heathy Eating guidelines.
“We survey participants at the start and end of the program and then six months later, with our results all showing significant improvement across the board,” she said.
“I would encourage any parent who has concerns about their child’s fitness, to get in touch.”
