Specsavers Bankstown Audiology Professional Maree Patikas said it’s easy to push hearing checks aside when life gets in the way but the more you put it off, the longer you may be struggling to hear basic everyday sounds.
“It can be as easy as coming in for a quick 15-minute hearing check with one of our experienced audiology professionals that’s completely free so we can see if any further testing is needed,” she said.
“This way, you’ll be on top of your hearing health and won’t have to think twice about why you have to ask others to repeat themselves.
“The research also found only two per cent would put a hearing check as their first priority.”
Free help to cut hearing loss risk
NEW research released by Specsavers Audiology has found that in the last two years, 97 per cent of locals aged 50 and over have had some type of health check but only 38 per cent, the equivalent to 40,650 residents have specifically had a hearing check.
