Free gym all week for ‘mental health’

SNAP Fitness clubs across Australia, including Canterbury, are opening their doors for free during World Mental Health Week, October 12-18.

The initiative aims to get people moving and give those feeling isolated the chance to experience a sense of community.
All 216 clubs will offer the free training week, encouraging locals to get involved and try their hand at a range of training experiences including functional and group training, classes, free weights and more.
Snap Fitness Canterbury Franchisee, Todd Howard, says many people have seen their mental health take a toll in 2020.
“With such a direct tie between mental and physical health, Snap Fitness is determined to support the public in making a difference to their lives this Mental Health Week and also raising awareness and much needed funds towards education in Australia,” he said.
“Snap Fitness Canterbury is encouraging everyone in the area to come along and take advantage of our services free of charge during all of next week.
“We’re really hoping locals will see the benefits that physical activity can have on their mental state and the positives of a tight-knit community.
“The Snap Fitness Canterbury community is so welcoming and excited to meet newcomers – don’t be a stranger!
“Come down and say ‘hi’, ask us questions and get involved.”
Throughout October, Snap Fitness is dedicating their time to raising much needed funds and awareness towards mental health through their partnership with LIVIN.
