The free workshop and screening will be held on Tuesday, August 29, from 6-8pm at the Belmore Senior Citizens’ Centre.
Hosted by Jo Taranto, from sustainability community advocacy group Good for the Hood, the workshop will empower you with practical ways to reduce your food waste and will also feature innovative treats by a low-waste caterer.
Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said the ABC’s War on Waste series focused on the impact of and solutions to material waste in Australia and this event was the perfect way for people to start looking at what changes they could make in their own homes.
“You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about fighting food waste,” the Mayor said.
“Don’t miss out on this chance to make a positive impact on the environment and your community.
“Together, we can make a difference in the war against food waste.”
