Free classes to keep you younger

USE it or lose it! We have all heard this saying – and it is never as true as with physical exercise.

As we get older, we often lose the opportunity to keep physically fit and active but it is still important to keep moving as much as we can.
We don’t have to compete in a marathon, but participating in regular, appropriate exercise can improve our physical and mental wellbeing.
Canterbury City Community Centre, in partnership with the Central Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network, is offering free classes to local residents who are over 65. Participants will need to register with My Aged Care to take part and we can assist with this process.
The classes are run by a qualified Exercise Physiologist who will provide professional supervision and support to participants.
A light morning tea is provided at the end of the class so there is ample opportunity for a chat and to get to know some of the other class members.
The emphasis is on having fun while keeping fit and regaining muscle strength and mobility.
The classes commence on Monday, October 8, until August 31, 2019, from 11.30am-12.30pm, at Canterbury City Community Centre, 130 Railway Parade, Lakemba.
Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing and footwear and bring along a bottle of water.
The classes are supported by funding from Campsie RSL through the ClubGrants Program.
