Covic presented a framed and signed Wanderers jersey to lucky door prize winner Marcus Mifsud from the club’s U13/1 side, as every young player received a trophy for their efforts and to mark the completion of the winter season.
They then enjoyed a soccer juggling competition, sack race, hot food, drinks, Slushies, face painting, cakes, Wanderers and Football NSW activations and a silent auction where families picked up some fantastic memorabilia, with Ranger Roy even making an appearance.
The day followed the club’s largest seniors awards night ever the previous Saturday at Smithfield RSL, with the formal event including Councillors Ola Hamed and Diane Colman in attendance.
Senior players were presented with awards and a new life member Terry Baker was inducted.
Club president Danny Rizk thanked everyone involved – from the administration team and coaches, to the players and parents.
“Thanks also to our sponsors and referees from the Granville & Districts Football Referees Association,” he said.
“Thanks to everyone involved who makes this the best sport on earth.”
