Flying Doctor fundraiser

EVERY two years, Club Mount Lewis holds a charity event to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Club Mt Lewis bid to beat its record

This year, the event will be held this Friday, May 3, in the Club’s auditorium with Special Guest MC Daryl Brohman together with speakers Royce Simmons and Paul Sironen, along with entertainment from Dizzy The Hypnotist, and Deputy Chief Pilot of RFDS, Cameron Gibb.
“Previous events have raised in excess of $50,000 each for the charity and this year the Club would like to try and set a record, as the RFDS celebrates it 90th year of operation,” Club Mount Lewis CEO Barbara Pye said.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service delivers emergency and essential health care services to the people who live, work and travel in regional and remote Australia.
From humble beginnings 88 years ago with one doctor, one pilot and one leased aircraft; the RFDS has grown to today include 64 aircraft and almost 1,200 staff stationed at 21 bases across Australia.
Club Mount Lewis has been a proud sponsor of the RFDS for many years with Club members participating in the annual RFDS Outback Trek and raising funds for the RFDS.
This year the Royal Flying Doctors Service will be holding their 30th car bash and are aiming to raise $30 million.
Tickets for the event are $120 and includes three-course lunch, entertainment and drinks.
There is also a raffle, auction and you can buy a key to unlock the prize.
