The fly-on-a-wall series follows the journeys of expectant mothers, their families and, of course, the hospital’s dedicated midwives.
From the reception desk to the operating theatre, the unpredictable moments of child birth are captured via 60 remote operated cameras that record 24/7, ensuring nothing is missed.
Westmead Hospital’s women’s health director Donna Garland said each episode takes the audience on a roller coaster of emotion.
“Birth is such a special and powerful moment,” Donna said.
“We are so thankful to all the mums and dads who not only let us be part of their story but are willing to share with Australia in such intimate detail.”
Created by Dragonfly, part of Endemol Shine UK, the award-winning documentary series has now been adapted in 10 markets including France, Denmark, Czech Republic and Israel.
The series airs Tuesdays at 8.30pm on Channel 10 with past episodes also available at 10play.com.au.
