Flooring that feels like walking on air

THERE’S been 22 years of commercial traffic on Gerry Swindale’s showroom floor at his Thrust Floors business in Mortdale, but it looks as good as the day it was completed.

It’s just another example of the fine attention to detail and the professional finish that he gives to every project.
In business for 56 years manufacturing and installing flooring, Gerry is passionate about delivering an unmatched level of service to every client.
Capable of meeting all tastes and requirements – from the simple to the exotic – Thrust Floors aim to turn your flooring dreams into a reality.
“We offer 73 hardwood species from across the world; all visually appealing, full of character and that will last the distance,” he said.
From a cottage owner’s requirements to major projects, with completed projects including Westfield stores, ABC studios and stadiums in Asia and Saudi Arabia, Thrust Floors will help you decide what’s exactly right for you.
“We have a beautiful range of ‘bread and butter’ items but if you want to invest further, the air thrust sports floors are in a class of their own,” Gerry said.
“They’re built on a cushion of air which gives our floors their superior qualities; each rubber pad contains 50 pockets of air, it’s pure pneumatics and what they use in performing arts centres as they’re so ideal to improve acoustics.
“Even the military does 9m parachute jumps on these floors.”
Prices start at $85 a metre up to $2,500 a metre plus GST, with products including custom laminate, hardwood, parquetry and European Oak.
“We spend a lot of time explaining the technical reasons behind the options too so you always have full confidence,” Gerry said.
