Just after 9pm (Sunday, November 28), the occupants of a Yaris – aged 37, 17, 17, 16 and 12 – were allegedly shot at by a man while they were driving in the area. Soon after the Yaris was involved in a crash at the intersection of Townsend Street and Manahan Street.
No one was injured as a result of the shooting or the crash.
Specialist police from the Public Order and Riot Squad arrested a 20-year-old man outside a unit block on Clack Road, Chester Hill, just before 8am today (Monday, November 29).
At the time of the arrest, the man was leaving the unit block in a silver Toyota Orion believed to have been used in the shooting, however not involved in the crash. The car has been seized for forensic examination.
Police are still looking for a second man who was allegedly involved.
