The students – Iqra Adrees, Zainab Alhasni, Saleha Bano, Aishah Binti Mohamad Nazri, Chahed Dennaoui, Farzana Farzana, Aayusha Subedi and Laiba Usman‚Äã – represented Year 9 iSTEM and had the mission, ‘City Shaper’, with the object to shape a growing city with more stable, useful and accessible buildings or structures.
Teams needed to have designed, built and programmed a Lego Robot to complete the mission.
Throughout the competition, teams were judged on their adherence to the First Lego League Core Values which focus on teamwork, cooperation and gracious professionalism.
“We are so proud of our students’ teamwork,” a school spokesperson said.
“This is a testament to the teamwork, leadership and professionalism our girls show when they are out there in the wide world.
“We believe it is the most important trophy of the competition as this is a critical component of the First Lego League Core Values.
“What they accomplished is amazing and the skills they learn will last a lifetime.”

DESPITE being the rookie team, a group of Wiley Park Girls High School STORM (Smart Teens of Rare Minds) students have won the trophy for Gracious Professionalism at the First Lego League Regional Robotics Tournament for 2019.
