First grade spinners lead way

SPINNERS Yasir Ali and Tom ‘Tommygun’ Wood took six wickets between them in a swelter on Saturday at Greenway Park.

The extreme heat made it very hard for pace bowlers and only slightly less so for spinners who led the way in the first grade Sydney Shires competition.
Ali took 3-50 and Wood 3-49 as Mounties reached 6 for 216.
The second grade Eagles 3-175 have already taken out first innings points with Mounties all out 125. They will seek an outright win next Saturday.
The third grade Eagles are a 20 runs short of the first innings points with six wickets in hand. This is another chance of an outright Eagles win.
The fourth grade Eagles are 4-47 chasing 206, so this match will need a great batting effort to get even second innings win.
