‘Furever’ friend longing for home

WITH winter well on its way, now is the perfect time to rescue a beautiful dog (or two) who is looking for a special someone to call family.

The Canterbury Bankstown Animal Shelter does a wonderful job looking after the unfortunate dogs who, through mostly tragic circumstances, end up without a home.
A Canterbury Bankstown spokesperson says many of these gorgeous pooches have overcome a lot in their short lives and are desperately waiting for their forever family.
“The shelter has some wonderful dogs whose only wish in life is to have a place to call home,” she said.
Here are some favourites:

Happy: Five-year-old female Staffy.
Happy is a fun loving, cuddle-addict. She would love nothing more than to sit on your lap and cuddle all day. She’s a total attention seeker and makes her carers smile every time they go near her for a pat. You won’t be able to stop yourself from falling in love with her sweet smiling face.

Amethyst: Three-year-old male, Bull Arab mix.
Super friendly, Amethyst just loves a cuddle. He’s a happy go lucky lad who loves being around humans. He will be more than happy just being by your side. He is such a love-bug.

Ducky: two/three-year-old female Staffy.
Ducky is the sweetest girl. She loves people, and all the cuddles. If you’re looking for a furry companion who will be loyal and delightful, then Ducky is your girl. The carers absolutely adore her because she brightens everyone’s day.

If you think you’re the right match for any of these dogs or you’d like to visit the Animal Shelter and meet them for yourself, you can drop in for some pats.
Adoption fee is $50 and includes desexing, microchipping, vaccination and lifetime registration as well as flea and worming treatment.
