Fill up on tips to help food business thrive

THE leading ones are treated like movie stars in America, but most Instagrammers in Australia are still learning the ropes and that’s why it’s important for business people to spend their cash on those that not necessarily have a lot of followers but high engagement.

This is according to Business Connect consultant Viktoria Darabi who is presenting a two-hour webinar, ‘Broaden your Customer Base for Food Businesses’, on January 27, 10am-12pm.
Only one of three in Australia holding a Masters degree in Gastronomic Tourism, Viktoria is full of fantastic advice for you to get the most out of your business, including how to run a familiarisation tour for an influencer (instagrammers are all about the images; bloggers write the reviews); e-commerce and how food and beverage events can showcase your distinctiveness.
“I will also be outlining catering opportunities because the landscape has changed with no shared plates but food services are still in demand,” she said.
“I have a Malaysian laksa chef who is now selling his popular product in jars to clubs; he just needed to know how to get past the gatekeeper.
“Food operators should also be bombarding visitor information centres; if you go into Parramatta, for example, the info they have is mostly out of date which is a lost opportunity as every visitor wants to know the best place to eat.
“This talk can benefit anyone in business, it will definitely get your juices flowing and the tips and advice are pearls for life.”
