Fest ignites entertainment hub

SYDNEY Olympic Park will be a hive of activity with the Park Sounds Festival helping reignite it as a major events and entertainment precinct.

The dynamic new festival will host 50 music gigs featuring Australian talent including big name artists and a program of emerging musicians, numerous sporting events and a new Light Market showcasing live music alongside delicious food, drinks and desserts from some of Sydney’s best food trucks.
One of the highlights of the festival is the Queens of Country – A Celebration of Women in Country Music, a showcase of 10 artists over five weeks playing original country music and boot scootin’ favourites at Ribs and Rumps in Sydney Olympic Park.
You can catch Mama Cath (6-7pm) and Michelle Little (7-9pm) this Thursday and Clare O’Meara (6-7pm) and The April Family (7-9pm) at Ribs and Rumps on Thursday, May 5.
Chief Executive of Sydney Olympic Park, Anita Mitchell, says Park Sounds will create opportunities for the creative sector heavily affected by Covid-19 lockdowns and gives everyone a great opportunity to explore gigs, bars, indoor and outdoor spaces with plenty of action for music lovers, foodies, families and sports fans of all ages
“Performers and live entertainment were among the first to be shut down when the pandemic struck and are still yet to reach a level of normality, so Park Sounds will give them a much needed boost,” she said.
