Favourite haunt for diner

A FAVOURITE destination for Padstow locals and visitors alike for over 10 years, Vanilla Bean Cafe at 61 Howard Road, serves up a delicious range of all-day breakfast, snack and lunchtime options.

There’s fruit, pancakes, muesli, acai bowls and egg feasts like Eggs Benedict on muffins with steamed spinach, ham and hollandaise sauce, a salmon special with eggs, rocket, avocado and ricotta on sourdough toast with roasted dukkha, a three-egg omelet with ham, cheese and tomato, a breakfast burger with grilled bacon and fried eggs with barbecue sauce or the Big Breakfast with bacon, eggs, hash brown, sausage, grilled tomato, sauteed mushrooms and toast. Or maybe try the fresh warm scones with jam and cream or Turkish raisin toast with ricotta and honey.
Plus you can grab the $12 breakfast special (only served weekdays before 12noon) which features bacon and eggs with grilled tomato and toast with coffee or tea.
There’s also plenty of lunchtime starters like tasty dips, bruschetta, fried haloumi and cheese and chicken or vegetarian quesadillas.
For lunch, there’s a host of sandwich and wrap options, burgers – including the divine Scotch fillet steak burger or chicken schnitty, beef or vegetarian nachos, grilled chicken breast, sirloin steak, beer battered flathead fish fillets, grilled Atlantic salmon, salt & pepper squid, crisp or creamy salads, beautiful chips, boscaiola or chicken pasta plus daily specials.
As well as the full suite of coffees and teas available, there’s juices, smoothies, thick shakes, iced drinks and delectable sweets including friands, protein balls, fig and nut bars, paleo brownies and cheesecakes.
Cafe owner Tony says diners cannot get enough of their daily fresh fare.
“Everything is so affordably priced; we’re hard to beat,” he added.
