Fantastic activities to experience in festival

THE NSW Seniors Festival will return with a raft of fantastic activities to enjoy from March 25 to April 1.

‘Reconnect’ is the theme for the festival and Cumberland Council will be offering a range of events to support residents to connect back with the community in Covid-safe settings.
“Following the challenges that the community has faced over recent years, and the isolation experienced during Covid-19, we’re excited to deliver a full Seniors Festival 2022 program,” a Cumberland Council spokesperson said.
People aged 55 years and over are encouraged to take part in the events and activities.
Seniors Have Talent – Morning Tea, at The Holroyd Centre, Merrylands, on Friday, March 25, 10.30am-12.30pm and Dooleys Regents Park Sports Club on Thursday, March 31, 10.30am-12.30pm.
Enjoy a delicious morning tea with assorted sandwiches, fruit, sweets and coffee or tea, while enjoying performances and entertainment by Cumberland seniors and guest artist Brian Lorenz.
Residents can book one morning tea only.

Intergenerational Bush School at Central Gardens, Merrylands, on Monday, March 28, 10-11am.
Children have been invited to bring along grandparents, great-grandparents, great aunties and uncles, elderly neighbours or family friends to celebrate the seniors in their lives. Poppy the Possum will be the special guest.
Bush School is a free and fun morning full of nature based activities, songs and stories for children.

Dine In Movie Day at Guildford Community Centre on Monday, March 28, 11am-1pm
Enjoy a free lunch, good company and a classic movie on the big screen.

Human Library at Merrylands Library on Tuesday, March 29, 10am-noon.
Come into the library and borrow a human for a 20 minute chat.
The Human Library is, in the true sense of the word, a library of people, and consists of books that are human.
Each of these books volunteer to take part in our human library event to share their story and, like a regular book, a human book will wear a book jacket with a description, and a reader can check out books on a topic that they may be interested in learning more about.
