Family walk in ‘Balmoral Burn’ to help sick children in hospital

WOULD you like to conquer some of Sydney’s steepest hills and at the same time, make a big difference to sick children in hospital?

The Humpty Dumpty Balmoral Burn returns this Sunday, May 28, to continue the Humpty Dumpty Foundation’s important work of making a tangible impact, saving lives and improving the health outcomes of children.
Taking part for the last 10 years at least, Luca De Lorenzo will join staff and family members of his Silverwater-based business, De Lorenzo Haircare, to take part in the fundraiser.
“Nothing beats the satisfaction of making it to the top of that monster hill,” Luca said.
“We have four staff and eight family members running and I’ll also be joining my wife Isobelle and one-year-old daughter Samantha who I’ll be pushing in her pram in the walking category.
“We have a value-based, family driven company and love nothing more than giving support to help other Australian families.”
Luca said the Balmoral Burn was the hardest fundraiser run he had ever taken part in.
“But it’s just so worthwhile that I just couldn’t say no; everyone should get involved,” he said.
Every dollar raised helps Humpty to provide essential, and often life saving, medical equipment and health initiatives to around 500 hospitals and health services right across Australia.
