Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake said the extravaganza, to be held on Friday, November 17, from 4-7pm, will be a showcase of performances and acts from primary and high school students, with a huge stage line-up of dance, music, drama and poetry reading and more.
She said it provided a platform for children and young people to showcase their talents in a safe and nurturing environment where they could feel supported to express themselves and be a part of the community.
The five schools taking part, which include children from Kindergarten to Year 12, are Guildford West Public School, International Maarif Schools of Australia, Hilltop Road Public School, Regents Park Christian School and Westmead Christian School, and there will also be a range of food vendors, free games and activities for children as well as market stalls by Merrylands Scout Group, Holroyd State Emergency Service (SES), NSW Police (Cumberland PAC) and Merrylands Youth Centre.
“The family friendly event will feature a range of performances and acts including dance, music, drama and poetry readings,” the Mayor said.
“I encourage everyone to come along and support our local children and young people as they showcase their talents and explore the new Merrylands Civic Square at the same time,” she said.
