The community will be treated to a day of free family-friendly activities and entertainment this Thursday (September 28), 10am-2pm, including face painting, clown entertainer and balloon creations, cupcake decorating and slime workshops plus a visit from the lovable pirate, Captain Luke N’Silly.
Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake said it was exciting for the council to be hosting a first of its kind Spring Fair – “a perfect way for our community to enjoy the school holidays with their children”.
“With the weather warming up, there’s no better time to be outside enjoying the Spring weather, so I encourage you to round up the family and join in the fun,” Mayor Lake said.
Building on the success of the Friendship Garden Open Day at the Auburn Centre for Community earlier this year, the fair aims to foster collaboration among local not-for-profit organisations and council services, and give them a platform to showcase and offer their services to the wider community. All funds raised at the fair will go towards sustaining the operations of those community organisations.
There will be a range of free giveaways on the day as well as a free sausage sizzle. All children who attend must be accompanied by an adult.
