The Bulldogs, who will take on the Gold Coast Titans from 2pm, have partnered with the Kari Foundation to provide a packed program of exciting pre-match activities for children/families in the Young Academics Family Fun Zone, including Indigenous Sand Art, Digeridoo painting and didgeridoo making demonstration.
The day will include a special Acknowledgement of Country by Gamilaroi man and injured Canterbury Bankstown player Braidon Burns; Uncle Les McLeod performing an Indigenous Smoking Ceremony before kick-off; and performances by the Nulungu Dreaming Dance Group, as well a sthe Kari Group who will be performing a rendition of Simply the Best.
McGrady will also be doing the coin toss on behalf of the Club and partaking in a traditional gift exchange with the Titans ahead of the match (a traditional Indigenous carving).
He joined Canterbury in 1990 as a half back and became a regular first grader until 1993 when he played reserve grade. In 1994, he played four first grade games with Western Suburbs.
In 2004, McGrady was nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions.
Another special guest will be Rod Silva – a proud Gamilaroi and Gunghutti man, former Bulldogs full-back and Braidon’s Uncle.
The match will also mark Josh Addo-Car’s return from injury (syndesmosis) – a proud Wiradjuri and Gunggandji man, and Corey Waddell’s 50th club match with the Bulldogs.
