The second quarter was another display of entertaining football between both teams, however with a couple of late goals to Sydney University, they headed into the main break with a 15-point advantage. Unfortunately, the Magpies could not sustain the pressure seeing Sydney University run out 70-point victors.

In the Premier Division Women’s game, it looked like the Magpies were going to kick away early with two goals coming in the first five minutes however Sydney University recovered and were able kick a late goal.
The second quarter saw a stalemate with the ball entering both 50s frequently but neither team able to convert.
In the third quarter, Sydney University came out firing and kicked three unanswered goals. However, with three minutes left in the last quarter, the Magpies were able to kick a goal equalling the score at 28 all. The last two minutes saw the ball rebound backwards and forwards with both teams trying to gather a point to put themselves ahead. It was Sydney University who were able to break the defensive lines of the Magpies with a long ball, getting their first.
