Faces 16 charges for alleged teen sex assaults

A MAN faces 16 charges following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in the Bankstown area last year.

In May last year, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, established Strike Force Mannow to investigate allegations that a teenage girl had been sexually assaulted.
The 30-year-old man was charged with grooming a child under 14 years for unlawful sexual activity, intentionally sexually touch child under 16 years (four counts), intentionally incite child under 16 years (sexual touch), meet/travel to meet child groomed for sexual activity and counts of aggravated – sexual intercourse child (nine counts).
Police will allege in court the man sexually assaulted the teenage girl – then aged 13 – on multiple occasions between April and May 2020.
The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad comprises detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
