Excitement as 60 young sample new ‘showbags’

CHOCOLATE, superheroes and video games proved to be the most popular choices at the annual showbag launch ahead of this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Sixty children from The Children’s Hospital at Randwick, Westmead Children’s Hospital and Royal Far West were tasked with sampling the 358 showbags on offer at this year’s Show, including six-year-old Nicolas Reale from Roselands.

Sharing plenty of smiles with their parents as they were let loose on the tables of showbags, the children enthusiastically worked their way through the range of offerings.

Describing the day as “everyone’s favourite”, the Show’s manager of Operations and Product Development, Shane McGrath, said the event highlighted that this year’s showgoers would be spoilt for choice and could expect amazing value, with showbags ranging in price from $2 to $40.

“Whether you go for the crowd favourite Bertie Beetle bag, or have a keen eye for fashion or video games, we have something for everyone, the young and young at heart,” he said.

“We expect new Showbags Hatchimals and Jurassic World to be incredibly popular with the kids this year, and there are some great bargains to be had with 119 Showbags costing $10 or less.”

The Show runs from April 12-23 and information on the showbags available, as well as ticketing info, is available at eastershow.com.au.
