Everyone invited to Biggest Morning Tea with ‘fundraising’ pets

BEAUTY Point Retirement Resort is throwing open its doors on Thursday, May 9, with all of the community invited to their Annual Biggest Morning Tea.

For a $10 entry cost, you can savour delicious scones and piping hot tea or coffee, be in the winning to score a lucky door prize, win a cake to be tailored for your next event to the value of $150 or select a raffle lucky dip prize including original paintings, jewellery, folk art, handmade keepsake boxes and beautiful handmade rugs as well as stunning craft pieces.
Organiser Pamela Pitkeathly said this year’s Biggest Morning Tea would offer a special attraction, with six of the residents’ pets ‘fundraising’ and competing to be ‘Most Pampered’.
“Beauty Point is one of the rare aged care villages that allows residents to keep pets for which we are very grateful so we thought we would put them to work this year,” she said with a laugh.
“We have their photos up in reception with a collection box underneath and invite our visitors to toss in any spare coins as every little bit helps.”
The Biggest Morning Tea at Beauty Point Retirement Resort, 33 Bernard Road, Padstow Heights, gets underway from 10am, with the goal of raising $4,000 for the Cancer Council.
