Every coffee bought to support homeless

IF you buy a cup of coffee from The Butchers Block in Granville this Friday, it may be the most important cuppa you ever consume.

For one day only, the company is taking part in the CafeSmart initiative to fund vital services for the homeless and will donate $1 from every coffee purchased with customers also able to donate.
The donations collected through cafes, coffee roasters and corporate partners, are pooled together to provide a whole of community response to fund food and meals programs, emergency aid, youth programs, medical services, street outreach and domestic violence emergency accommodation as well as other general services in the community.
Butchers Block General Manager Chris Clarke said they were joining CafeSmart on Friday to help support a great initiative that strived to combat homelessness all around Australia by providing basic needs and a sense of community.
“Mark the date in your calendar, Friday, August 4, and join us at any of our Butchers Block venues,” he said.
“Dani, our Granville barista, is super excited to serve as many patrons as she possibly can to support this cause,” he said.
