In further disappointment, Two Blues lost lost all other senior and colts games.
Two Blues Rugby Operations Manager Randy Basra described the First Grade match as poor compared to the standards set previously in the season.
“Our guys trained exceptionally well all week, they were focused and sharp, but were unable to replicate that on game day,” he said.
“We made a couple of late changes to our team with some unavailability but we felt the team we had was still good enough to get a result and continue shocking the competition, however that wasn’t to be.”
However, he said when reviewing the game afterwards, it was their own mistakes that cost them.
“We had 21 errors where we either dropped the ball or our passes were not sticking,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter how good a team you are, if you make that many mistakes, you won’t win the game.”
He said they were now focusing on a huge game at home this weekend against traditional rivals Randwick who sit at the top of the table.
Error count put Manly win out of reach for Two Blues
IT had been many years since Western Sydney Two Blues Rugby Union Club beat Manly at Manly Oval and despite being determined to change that, it wasn’t to be for the boys in blue who went down 26-19.
