Cr Ola Hamed proposed the initiative and met with Detective Superintendent Paul Devaney from Cumberland police (pictured) to personally pass on the council’s thanks.
She says frontline and essential workers have certainly demonstrated they’re the bravest, most compassionate and most generous of people.
“I say thank you for serving and caring for our community in this pandemic every single day,” she said.
“We know you’ve been pushed to the brink and still work to keep our families protected and well cared for.”
Ten signs have been posted at Auburn and Westmead Hospitals; Auburn, Merrylands and Granville Police stations as well as the Ambulance Depot on Burnett St, Merrylands and the Auburn Ambulance station.
