Enjoy ‘Coffee with Cop’

☐ Residents enjoy chatting at the ‘Coffee with a Cop’ event in Campsie.

POLICE will invite residents for another ‘Coffee with a Cop’ later in the year following the success of the Campsie event last month.

Local officers and community members came together over coffee at Gloria Jeans in the Campsie Centre to discuss community issues and concerns and help build relationships.

Campsie Police Commander, Superintendent Kerrie Lewis, said she was extremely pleased with the response to ‘Coffee with a Cop’ and hoped to hold a similar event later in the year.

“A number of community members saw the event advertised and attended specifically to engage with local police and discuss issues,”

“A number of community members saw the event advertised and attended specifically to engage with local police and discuss issues,” she said.
“The informal environment of the coffee shop definitely made people more comfortable to approach police. It was particularly nice to speak to a number of elderly members of the community and hear their views.”
