About 11.15pm on Tuesday, March 22, a 23-year-old man was working in a service station on Roberts Road, Greenacre, when a man approached a counter and produced a knife, demanding money and threatening the employee.
The armed man unsuccessfully attempted to gain access to the back of the counter, before forcing the doors to the service station open and fleeing the scene.
The employee was uninjured.
The man is described as wearing a dark, long-sleeved top with a white emblem on the left chest area, a black cap, khaki knee-length shorts and black running shoes.
