Along with the visionary talents of composers Marlene Cummins, Gavi Duncan, Tim Gray, Nicole Smede and Elizabeth Sheppard, Ngarra-burria: First Peoples Composers program founder Dr Chris Sainsbury said it was great to be partnering with River City Voices performing works by First Nations composers.
“Especially as they are centred in Parramatta, the site of Australia’s first Aboriginal mission,” he said.
River City Voices Artistic Director Sarah Penicka-Smith said the concert would give the audience a chance to meet some fine artists who had been making music for many years but who only now starting to receive due recognition.
“Blue Sky Country Christmas’ also offers a fresh perspective for those who appreciate traditional Christmas carols, with emotionally charged and evocative compositions that promise to resonate deeply,” she said.
