Described as the best authentic Italian cuisine in Australia by many experienced travellers, Panania’s Pikkio Pizzeria Trattoria is keeping customers happy during present restrictions on dining in.
With pick-up and home delivery options in full swing, owner and chef Daniel Mari will next week launch ‘pasta kits’ containing three types of pasta and three types of sauces.
Imagine how much easier that will make feeding a hungry family; just cook some pasta, add the beautiful sauce and then enjoy restaurant quality fare.
Daniel, who won a five-year place at Italy’s leading cooking school as a young man and then went on to run the hugely successful Ascoli Piceno in Rome, is also preparing takeaway family trays to order with delicious offerings such as spinach and ricotta cannelloni, lasagne and a range of chicken meals.
Judged to have the best wood-fired pizza in Sydney in 2005, Daniel is always coming up with great ideas to keep his menu exciting.
“You can still order from the menu and blackboard specials; last week we offered homemade gnocchi in pink brandy sauce with King prawn and calamari,” he said.
Describing their customers as like a family that never stop supporting them, Padstow’s Gloria Jeans says the regulars are still coming in to grab drinks and snacks.
“Everyone needs their coffee,” the spokesperson said.
Chester Hill Station’s GS Coffee is doing it tougher.
“Yesterday we sold only a couple of coffees between 7am and 4pm,” the spokesperson said. “It’s just so quiet.”
Revesby’s Grain’d Cafe is also feeling the pinch. “It’s a struggle but at least we’ve got the takeaway side of the business,” a staffer said.
Eateries grateful for loyal clientele
APPRECIATING their loyal customers as never before, cafes and restaurants are looking for different ways to reward the locals who are supporting them during the Covid-19 outbreak.
