East Hills View Club marking 60th milestone

East Hills View Club

WITH tables decked out in a ‘diamond’ theme, more than 60 East Hills View Club members have celebrated its 60th anniversary at Revesby Workers’ Club.

With members from other View clubs also attending, along with Mayor Khal Asfour, the State MP for East Hills, Wendy Lindsay, and RWC director Daryl Melham, the celebration was significant as last year’s was cancelled due to Covid.
Club president Jan Mackenzie said the day provided an opportunity for members and visitors to consider the achievements and efforts of members past and present in their goal of supporting disadvantaged students to help create a better future for all.
“A further highlight was awarding a 20-year membership badge, two 10-year membership badges and 10 new member badges,” she said.
“We have experienced a huge increase in membership this year which has enabled us to donate more extensively to the Smith Family’s Learning for Life Program and directly sponsor two students as well as supporting locals schools through our annual stationery drive.
“Our members are proud to make a contribution to the academic progress of students as well as enjoying the friendship which grows from membership of an organisation such as ours.”
