Along with Zone Councillor Pam Collins and National President Kay Underwood, members and guests dressed in the birthday theme of black and white, with tables decorated accordingly.
“Cutting the cake is always a highlight of the day,” East Hills VIEW secretary Bev Cheal said.
“This year the cake was cut by Mary Brown who has been a member of VIEW for 30 years, Pam and Kay.
“The last 12 months have been most successful for East Hills View Club with membership increasing and we have donated extensively to the Smith Family’s Learning for Life Program.”
This is done in several ways – the club directly sponsors two students nominated by the Smith Family and with whom they keep in regular contact as they report on their school year.
East Hills has also contributed to the purchase of several programs which are distributed to needy students and in October, they undertook a stationery drive and donated a large quantity of items collected to a school in Western Sydney which runs an after school program under the umbrella of the Smith Family.
“At the birthday event, members and guests enjoyed a two-course lunch and were entertained by singer Roland Storm; a fantastic celebration enjoyed by all,” Bev added.
