Eagles zoom to victory

YASIR Ali forged the way for an Auburn win after taking 6-69 against the Sydney Shires first grade competition leaders Epping.

The Eagles lost several players from last year’s team, but the new recruits – along with the already strong line-up – have shown they will give the competition a shake-up.
Auburn began strong at North Epping Oval with 233 from almost 85 overs, while Epping could only manage 191.
Ali bowled the initial six overs with his medium pace then switched to spin. The Eagles best batsmen were Zubair Jadoon on 38, Corey Lowe, 55, and Alex Daniels, 70.
The second grade Eagles hit 160 to keep the winning feeling alive, sending Epping to the showers for 157, while in third grade Epping finished with 119, before the Eagles passed them with 7-122.
The fourth grade Eagles, 119 went down to Epping Bulls, 153.
Next week Auburn will be hosting a Pink Stump Day in support of the Glenn McGrath Foundation which provides home nursing for women stricken with breast cancer. Everyone is welcome and if possible, wear pink.
