Eagles need to fly high challenge

THE Auburn Eagles will need a strong batting performance next week to chase down the Bulls’ score of 240 in Sydney Shires first grade cricket.

Epping won the toss and chose to bat first in ideal sunny conditions and despite the loss of an early wicket, applied themselves to task.
The Eagles bowlers toiled hard on a batting-friendly wicket with the Bulls reaching 2-102 at the drinks break.
Captain Yasir Ali rotated his bowlers around in an effort to get a breakthrough and eventually wickets started to fall. The Eagles had the Bulls on the ropes at 9-189 before a last wicket partnership pushed the Bulls score to 240 runs all out. Best bowlers for the Eagles were spinner Yasir Ali with four wickets and opening bowler Zain Khan with three wickets.
