E-waste collection day helps turn old into new

RESIDENTS are encouraged to safely recycle their electrical waste and take it to the next free e-waste collection.

Canterbury Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said during the last round of collections in 2020, residents recycled more than 19 tonnes of electrical waste items.
“It’s so important that our community has a safe and convenient way to drop-off their electrical waste,” Mayor El-Hayek said.
“It’s a win, win for everyone as many of these items can be recycled and turned into a variety of useful products to be used again and again.”
The electrical waste collection will be held on Saturday, June 10, 9am-3.30pm at Bankstown Paceway and will accept items such as TVs, consoles, modems, small household appliances, hand tools, cables, adapters, chargers and much more.
