Drunk, on phone and unlicensed

A MAN faces multiple driving offences, including high-range drink driving, after being stopped by police investigating reports about the driving of a black Mazda SUV in the Greenacre area last Thursday.

Police stopped the vehicle on Hillcrest Avenue about noon and spoke with the 23-year-old driver. Checks revealed he was driving while his P2 licence was cancelled and his application for a new licence had been refused.
The Bass Hill man allegedly returned a reading of 0.183 and was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous second offence, drive with high range PCA – second offence, learner/P1/P2 licence holder use mobile phone while driving, drive while licence cancelled – second offence and drive while licence application refused – second offence.

Three servo holdups likely linked
AN armed robbery at a Belmore service station is the third attack this month.
Last Sunday about 10.45pm, a man armed with a knife entered the service station on Punchbowl Road and demanded cash from the 26-year-old employee. He stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot down Benaroon Road.
The employee was uninjured.
A search of the surrounding area was conducted, with assistance from the Dog Unit and Polair, however the man wasn’t located.
Detectives are investigating possible links to a similar incident at the same location on Thursday, April 8 and Monday, April 12.
Anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the surrounding area, is urged to contact Campsie Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Slammed into car after drinking
A MAN from Padstow was charged with mid-range drink driving and his licence suspended following a crash at Holroyd last Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old man was allegedly driving along Brickworks Drive when his car crashed into a parked white Toyota Hilux, and damaged two other cars. He allegedly returned a reading of 0.088.
Two passengers were injured and taken to hospital, while one escaped injury.

Arrest three over kidnap, ransom
THREE men have been charged over the alleged kidnapping of a man who was found injured near an intersection in East Hills.
About 12.40pm on Saturday, October 24, police were called to a unit block on Morrison Road at Ryde, where a man had allegedly been violently abducted from the underground carpark.
Three days later, as police investigated, they found the injured 20-year-old near the intersection of Henry Lawson Drive and Maclaurin Avenue. He was taken hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
A 33-year-old man arrested at a home at South Granville, was charged with take/detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, a 40-year-old man arrested at Guildford was charged with take/detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, and a 32-year-old man arrested at Homebush was charged with take/detain in company with intent to ransom occasion actual bodily harm and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
