The Bulldogs crossed in the 16th minute after a shift to the left sent winger Nick Meaney down the sideline.
He passed back inside to Tim Lafai, who charged towards the try line before delivering a brilliant flick pass back to Meaney to crash over the line for his fifth try of the season. He missed the conversion from the sideline and the Dogs led 4-0.
They added their second try two minutes later when Jeremy Marshall-King split the Warriors defence straight up the middle of the field from dummy half and put Kieran Foran away who scored under the posts. Meaney converted from in front to give the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead after 20 minutes.
The Warriors crossed over next, reducing Canterbury’s lead to four.
Bulldogs extended their lead after the break when a beautiful pass from Jack Cogger found fullback Will Hopoate who scored in the south west corner.
Then the Warriors grabbed back-to-back tries in the 48th and in 50th minutes and converted, leading 16-14 with 30 minutes left in the game.
They added another try, leading 20-14, and the Dogs were out of time.
Bulldogs interim coach Steve Georgallis said there were poor defensive reads and a lack of direction.
“I’ll be making a few changes this week,” he said.
“I’m not giving up … it’s another one that got away.
“I’m bitterly disappointed, it really frustrates.”
The Bulldogs play the Raiders on Sunday from 6.30pm at GIO Stadium, Canberra.
