Driver unharmed as car slams through shop wall

FIRIES carefully removed a car that crashed through the brick wall of a convenience store in Lakemba last Sunday morning.

The driver managed to get out of the vehicle unharmed after his car slammed into the building on Edge Street just after 10.30am.
The building had to be stabilised after it was extensively damaged and threatening to collapse.
Acting Superintendent Mathew Sigmund from Fire and Rescue NSW, said the incident was a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
