About 5.30pm on Monday, October 2, Auburn Highway Patrol officers stopped a vehicle in Regents Park and subjected the 42-year-old driver to a roadside drug test which allegedly returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where he underwent a secondary test which also allegedly returned a positive result. He was charged with drive vehicle while disqualified, and further charges are dependent on the outcome of the oral fluid test.
During the operation, police issued a total of 11,080 Traffic Infringement Notices, with 3,823 issued for speeding, a further 287 were issued for mobile phone usage and 248 were charged over drink driving.
Driver one of 444 allegedly returning positive drug test
A MOTORIST in Regents Park was one of the 444 who allegedly returned a positive result after roadside drug tests during a state-wide, four-day police road traffic operation.
