Dressed in 1920s style in a nod to their club’s origins last century, the group was entertained by talented singer Lisa Budin, with guest speaker Federal MP for Banks, David Coleman, who congratulated The Smith Family on 100 years of service and thanked the Lugarno Club for it’s important contributions, presenting certificates of appreciation.
The club has raised more than $167,000 since 1992 and sponsors six Learning for Life students.
Decade pins were presented to members and club secretary Madge Doust paid tribute to presidents who have guided the club over the past 50 years, with six of these women in attendance.
Past president Jenny Smith was awarded a ‘Making A Difference Award’ and the cake was cut by Zone Councillor Liz Terry and President Val Colyer.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, September 20, from 10.30am, with guest speaker Linda Prince from ‘The Fixit Sisters’ Womens’ Shed at Kyeemagh.
The $40 cost includes a two-course lunch, with all welcome.

AMID a flurry of feathers and beads, Lugarno VIEW Club women have gathered at The Lantern Club at Roselands to celebrate their 50th anniversary and the Smith Family’s 100th.
