Last Friday about 8.50pm, police were conducting stationary speed enforcement along the Great Western Highway, Prospect, when they detected a silver BMW sedan allegedly travelling at 163km/h in an 80km/h zone.
When the driver was stopped further along the Great Western Highway, he provided a P1 licence, which had only been issued 12 days prior and restricts him to a maximum of 90km/h.
He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive speed dangerous, and class A motor vehicle exceed speed over 45km/h.
The driver’s licence was suspended on the spot, however the car could not be seized as he was not the legal owner.
