Dooleys members thrilled with return of weekly activities

A DOOLEYS member for 28 years, Lidcombe resident Robyn Fraser was extremely excited to get back to her ‘safe place’ last month and was first to arrive at Bingo when it re-commenced last week.

Along with Trivia, Meat and Grocery Raffles and Cash Housie, Dooleys Lidcombe and Regents Park are now back in full swing.
The Ladies Indoor Bowls manager and Ladies Shuffleboard committee member, Robyn says there is always something on at Dooleys.
“If I’m not going there for an activity, I’ll go there to meet friends or just get out of the house,” she said.
“Men have no problem walking into a pub on their own but it’s different for women, though not if you go to Dooleys.
“Some clubs won’t give you the time of day especially if you’re on your own, but the Dooleys staff will come up and have a chat, they are just so welcoming and friendly.
“It’s so much better than just sitting at home; there’s a lot of places I wouldn’t go to but I’d happily go to Dooleys every day of the week because it’s safe, secure and very clean.”
Robyn says there is no shortage of food available too, depending on your mood and budget.
“If peckish, you can just grab a snack or go for something big and fancy,” she said.
“They also offer sandwiches during the day which is all you feel like sometimes; I can’t praise Dooleys enough, you really feel like you belong.”
