In light of these figures, Dooleys staff are getting behind this year’s Movember campaign with four moustaches growing bushier by the day and three women committing to ‘move’ by walking or running 60km this month.
One of the organisers, Dooleys Employment Experience Partner Timothy Gebran says it’s important that the club community does as much as it can to raise awareness about men’s health issues while raising funds at the same time for researchers to find cures.
“It’s a cause close to my heart,” he said.
“I’ve had cancer in my family and mental health is a great cause to support because it’s so hidden.
“I try to do as much as I can to help and have previously raised funds for Beyondblue.”
The team has raised $600 so far but are aiming for $2,000, with hopes of building up to the pre-Covid efforts in 2019 where they raised over $15,000.
Members and residents are invited to help support Movember through joining the Dooleys team’s fundraising efforts or making a donation by going to movember.com, click on donate, then search for Dooleys.
Your donation could help save a father, a brother, a son, a friend, a partner, a man’s life.
