Senior Constable Glenn Halloran said 10 young people from Bankstown PCYC would join the Meals on Wheels volunteers to deliver the blankets to individuals identified by the service.
He said the funding to purchase the blankets was donated to the PCYC by the charity AusRelief.
“This project is about raising awareness among young people in the community and showing them how they can help vulnerable and elderly people,” he said.
“I think everyone will get a lot out of it. It’s a really good project and we appreciate the support from AusRelief and the City of Canterbury Bankstown Council.”
