After withstanding Dogs’ early pressure, the Bears had their first sight of the try line and they made no mistake converting that opportunity into points. The Dogs, however, were finding it tough but a left side shift to winger Isaac Lumelume, allowed him to dive in the corner and open his side’s scoring before the Bears extended their lead to 10-4 going into half-time.
The Bulldogs came out fired up in the second half, with a Brandon Wakeham grubber seeing Jackson Topine dive on the ball to level the game.
Wakeham assisted again, this time putting it up in the air cross-field for a leaping Paul Alamoti to plant it down, giving his side the lead.
Three consecutive penalties gifted the Bulldogs six points and sealed the deal for a Preliminary Final spot against Newtown Jets this Saturday from 3.10pm at Leichhardt Oval as they seek a Grand Final showdown with Panthers.
