Dogs snare vital scalps on first day against foe

BANKSTOWN will be looking to quickly finish off the Sydney batsmen and chase down their total at the picturesque Drummoyne Oval.

First grade Captain Daniel Solway won the toss for the two-day match and had no hesitation in sending in the home side after the recent rain around Sydney.
While the Dogs reaped the benefit of an at times tricky wicket, Sydney’s batsmen managed to scrape together a modest total despite losing overs to poor weather.
But it was the line and length of the Dogs’ bowlers that ensured no Sydney batsmen has yet to reach 50.
Ryan Felsch also made a welcomed return after a recent hand injury, and although wicketless, his contribution with tight opening bowling was important in restricting runs.
Again, young tearaway quick Brad Simpson was the pick with 2 for 39 off 16 overs and he was well supported by the slow bowlers Justin Felsch and Ben Le Bas who snared valuable scalps.
At 6-184 off 72 overs, the Dogs will be looking for quick wickets, so they can get to crease and begin their run chase.
