The first of the inaugural NRL Pre-Season Challenge games will see Wests Tigers tackle the Canberra Raiders at 2.55pm before Canterbury Bankstown take on Cronulla at 5pm.
This comes after Canterbury launched coach Cameron Ciraldo’s tenure at the Bulldogs in promising fashion with a 34-18 victory over the Raiders in Moruya on Sunday.
The Bulldogs ran in four tries to set up a 22-6 lead in a near flawless first 40 minutes with new recruit Reed Mahoney needing only a quarter of the game to prove he’ll change the side’s previous attacking woes.
Ciraldo said he liked how his team worked together.
“I think they were excited to get out there and play as it’s been a long pre-season where they’ve just been tackling each other,” he said.
“To then tackle another team, I think they really enjoyed it.
“Everything we’ve done, they’ve just attacked with 100 per cent.
“But it is just a trial and we will still need to improve on that this week.”
Dogs kick off Ciraldo era in style
THE Bulldogs will take on the Sharks in a double header blockbuster at Belmore Sports Ground this Sunday.
