‘Dogs cheerleader hoping to be crowned Miss World

A CHEERLEADER for the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs, Letitia Walker (pictured centre), is hoping to be crowned Miss World Australia at the Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast on Friday night.

The 20-year-old has raised more than $6,000 as part of Miss World’s Beauty with a Purpose program for children’s charity Variety and the Bush to Beach project which rewards indigenous youth for remaining at school.
A cheerleader for The Sapphires for the past three years, Letitia is in her final year of a Bachelor Degree majoring in Visual Arts and is an accomplished Baton Twirler, making it to 11th place in the International Cup and holding State and National titles.
She also works at ‘Pinot and Picasso’ and hopes to open her own business called ‘Sketch Paint Social’ for children with disabilities.
Always interested in modelling, Letitia saw the Miss World opportunity on social media and says the experience has made her a more confident version of herself.
“I’ve learnt to be in front of a crowd, something I couldn’t have done in high school,” she said.
“I’ve never done anything like this before and have learnt so much about myself and as well as others.”
Past Miss World winners have included Baywatch star Priyanka Chopra and Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai, with this year’s contestants having to take part in a top model and a sports challenge, workshops with a casting director and PR star as well as taking part in ‘Showreel’, a film for future models.
Her proud mum, Natalie said she was “overflowing with so much pride looking at how far Letitia has come”.
Letitia would like to give a shout out to sponsors including Novo, Vogue Dental Studios, Palazzo Versace, Lycon Cosmetics and Miss World Australia.
